Ambon, VIVA – A case of alleged assault involving police officers suddenly went viral on social media. The incident occurred at Yos Sudarso Port (KPYS) in Ambon City, Maluku, on Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a widely circulated video, a resident named Rizal became a victim of violence by police personnel when attempting to enter the port using a car.
Based on the viral video on social media, a police officer is seen hitting Rizal’s vehicle while using offensive language. The officer then forced Rizal out of the car, followed by acts of assault by several other police officers.
The victim was then handcuffed and taken to the KPYS Police Station.
